- Cancellation Policy for Illness and No-Shows
Illness or Unwellness:
If a student is sick or unable to attend a scheduled class, they must provide written notice (via email or text) at least 24 hours prior to the class. The class will be rescheduled to another date at no additional charge.
Less Than 24-Hour Notice:
If notice is not provided at least 24 hours in advance, the class will be considered attended, and a charge will apply.
No-Show Policy:
Failure to attend a scheduled class without prior notice will be treated as a no-show, and the class will be charged accordingly. No make-up classes will be offered for no-shows.
Bonus Classes Policy:
The bonus classes included with each package (Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Vocal Programs) are offered as a complimentary gift for participating in the program. These lessons are provided at no additional cost. These bonus classes cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred to another person, or refunded.
Toronto Singing Academy reserves the right to cancel or withhold bonus classes at any time. Additionally, if a student does not follow through with the program or fails to meet participation requirements, the bonus classes may be canceled. The academy also reserves the right to cancel bonus classes if the student does not continue with the program or fails to adhere to the program guidelines.
Refunds for Payment Plan Customers:
Customers on a payment plan acknowledge that there will be no refunds for any amounts already charged or paid. To cancel a program while on a payment plan, a cancellation fee of CAD $75 will be charged. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 30 days prior to the desired cancellation date. Failure to provide proper notice will result in an additional monthly charge, and no refund will be issued for that period. If proper notice is not given, the customer will be billed for an additional month, and the remaining balance will be due accordingly.
Declined Credit Card Payment Policy:
If a monthly payment made via credit card is declined or unsuccessful, we will notify you immediately. You will need to update or rectify your payment information within 5 business days to avoid additional charges. If the payment issue is not resolved within this period, an administration fee of CAD $35 will be added to the next billing cycle in addition to the regular monthly fee.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that payment information is up-to-date to prevent service interruptions. Multiple declined payments may result in suspension or termination of services until all outstanding balances and fees are settled.
Rejoining Suspended Students Policy:
Students who have suspended their classes and wish to return must provide written notice indicating their intent to resume. When submitting the notice, students should specify all preferred dates and times they are available for weekly classes.
Toronto Singing Academy will make every effort to accommodate the student’s preferred schedule and will assign a new class spot within 60 days of receiving the notice. The availability provided will be considered when scheduling, but placement is subject to current class availability and scheduling constraints.
Exceptional Circumstances Policy:
In cases of serious illness, the validity of credit notes will be extended to 2 years (instead of the standard 1 year). A doctor’s note confirming the illness is required to qualify for this extension.
For students relocating beyond the Toronto area, online classes can be arranged as an alternative to in-person lessons. No refunds will be issued for students who relocate, but credits or online options may be available as per the circumstances.
All requests for exceptions must be submitted in writing with supporting documentation (e.g., doctor’s note). The final decision rests with Toronto Singing Academy.
